The speed at which new housing developments in Uddingston sell out clearly indicates this town’s enduring popularity. The latest new-build development in Uddingston to sell out is Barratt’s Moray View, which saw its final remaining unit – a four-bedroom detached villa – reserved towards the end of January.
Moray View was delayed for two years before construction work started in 2016, and Barratt’s original plans to build 76 units were scaled back to 63 houses due to issues with the soil quality across this brownfield site. When homes finally went on sale, the three and four-bedroom semi and detached villas within this central Uddingston location were quickly snapped up.
With Moray View now sold out, new homes in Uddingston are becoming increasingly scarce:
Springfield have a quartet of three-bedroom semi-villas remaining at their otherwise-finished Uddingston development, just around the corner from Moray View.
Taylor Wimpey have a number of plots left at their substantial Tannochside development, which will contain 140 properties ranging from two to four bedrooms in size.
Dundas Estates have yet to release two thirds of their Woodhead Court development in Tannochside. This includes a mixture of two-bedroom flats and three-bed terraced and semi-detached villas.
Building plots in Uddingston are becoming increasingly scarce, with little extra land zoned for housing in the respective Local Plans published by North and South Lanarkshire Councils. This might be a favourable time to buy a new home in Uddingston, before supply dries up and demand pushes up resale prices…
